Will Woodard
Owner and PresidentWill W. Woodard, III, CFP® is a native of Wilson, NC. He is an Eagle Scout, a 1980 graduate of Ralph L. Fike High School, and a 1984 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Will opened Dare Capital Management in 2001 and earned the Certified Financial Planner ™ designation in September, 2003. Will has worked full-time as a financial planner and registered investment advisor since 2001, helping clients navigate the fallout from the dot-com crash of 2000, the financial crisis of 2008-2009, the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, and the long bull markets along the way. Will holds an active North Carolina Real Estate Broker’s License. Prior to opening his own firm, Will worked for seventeen years in restaurant sales, management, and accounting, as well as real estate property management and sales on the Outer Banks. Will has lived on the Outer Banks since 1984 and lives in Southern Shores, NC with partner Suzy Rich. Suzy and Will have three children: Leo Woodard, Tony Weaver, and Susannah Weaver. Will would like to acknowledge his late dad, Will W. Woodard, Jr. CLU, a Hall of Fame agent with Jefferson Standard (later Jefferson-Pilot) Insurance Company for instilling in him a life-long love of the financial markets, investments, and helping people. Dad practiced fiduciary investment management- before anyone identified it as a best practice- because it was simply the right thing to do. He loved treating clients like he would want to be treated. That’s been the goal of Dare Capital Management since 2001 and is still very much the goal today.
